Setting Up Apex Repricer

Turn on the repricer, configure costs, create a strategy, and go live safely.

Get from zero to repricing in a few steps. Apex only ever manages SKUs you explicitly assign, and every price it sets is bounded by the cost floor you build here.

1. Get your costs in

Apex prices off your real margin, so it needs:

  • Item cost on each product (your COGS). Strategies can also price off FIFO landed cost — see Pricing Strategies.
  • Weight on each product you fulfill yourself (it drives shipping overhead).

⚠️ Warning: no cost = no floor = no repricing. Apex fails safe — a SKU whose floor can’t be computed is skipped and surfaced on the Status page, never priced blind.

2. Set up the Shipping Overhead Matrix

Under Apex Repricer → Shipping Matrix, define weight bands and the shipping cost for each (e.g. 0–1 lb → $5). Start from the example bands and adjust.

  • An item’s weight picks its band; if bands overlap, the most specific band wins.
  • A specific SKU can bypass the matrix with a Shipping override on the product’s Amazon card — useful for oversize or freight items the bands don’t fit.
  • FBA offers don’t use the matrix — Amazon’s FBA fulfillment fee is used instead.

3. Amazon fees are automatic

Apex pulls Amazon’s referral and FBA fee estimates for your SKUs in bulk and keeps them fresh. A SKU whose fees aren’t known yet appears under Waiting on Fees on the Status page and starts repricing as soon as coverage lands — fees are never guessed at zero.

4. Create a strategy

Under Apex Repricer → Strategies → New Strategy, pick an engine, set your floor & ceiling margins, and (optionally) narrow who counts as competition. Full reference: Pricing Strategies.

5. Assign your SKUs

On the strategy’s page, assign the SKUs it should manage. Only assigned SKUs are ever repriced. Unassigning or pausing a SKU stops its repricing immediately — including anything already queued.

6. Sanity-check a few SKUs

Open a product’s Amazon channel card. The Min price / Max price fields show Apex’s computed floor and ceiling as their placeholders — spot-check a handful against your expectations before going live. Anything you type there becomes a hand-set bound that overrides the computed one. See Costs, Floors & Overrides.

7. Watch it, then go live

The Repricer Status page is live health: assigned offers, the decision feed (cost floor, desired price, live submitted price, margin), SKUs the engine judges Can’t Win, and anything Waiting on Fees or Orphaned. During onboarding your account can run in observe mode — every decision computed and recorded, no live price changed — and your ILLUMA contact flips it live once you’ve reviewed the decisions.

ℹ️ Note: repricing currently runs on Amazon. The engine itself is channel-agnostic; more marketplaces are on the roadmap.
