Image controls — Fit & Focal Point

Stop images from cropping badly — choose how each image fills its frame and which part stays in view.

Whenever you set an image on a block, two controls appear right under it: Image Fit and Focal Point. They decide how the image fills its space, so you never get a subject chopped in half.

Image Fit

Option What it does
Cover (fill, may crop) Fills the whole frame; edges that don’t fit are cropped. Best when the frame is a fixed shape (cards, tiles). (Default.)
Contain (show whole image) Shrinks the image so the entire picture shows — nothing is cropped, but you may see space around it. Best for logos or full graphics.

Focal Point

When Fit is Cover and an image has to crop, Focal Point picks which part stays in frame: Center, Left, Right, Top, Bottom, or a corner (Top Left, Top Right, Bottom Left, Bottom Right).

💡 Tip: If a person or product keeps getting cut off, set the Focal Point toward them (e.g. Top to keep a face, Right to keep a right-side subject) instead of switching to Contain.

Where these appear

  • Single blocks: Service Area, Product Spotlight, and the USP Bar background.
  • Per item (each tile/card/slide has its own): Features, Gallery, Split Feature, Promo Banner, Promo Carousel, Promo Banner Grid, and the image columns inside a Section.

The Hero has an extra option

The Hero block’s Image Fit adds a third choice:

  • Banner (full width, native aspect — no crop) — the image spans the full width at its own proportions and the hero grows to fit it. Perfect for a wide banner graphic you want shown edge-to-edge with nothing cropped.

The Hero also supports a background video (muted, auto-looping — your background image is its poster), a Scrim (a dark gradient along one edge to keep text readable), and an overlay. See the Hero block.
